Which one comes first, giving or receiving, the chicken or the egg?

We could debate for hours on this theological and philosophical question. The truth is that it does not matter which comes first. What is key is to start somewhere and to ultimately activate both processes, giving and receiving. If we only activate one, then we will not have an abundant life…for we cannot give what we do not have! And if we do not give what we have, then even what we have will be taken away from us!

As my own experience has shown me and 2 Corinthians 9:6 confirms: the more we generously give, the more we receive. What the Bible reveals to us is that if we desire to be surrounded by abundance in any area, then we have to share abundantly with others.

The simple truth is that we all have something that we can give. Don’t believe this statement to hold true? Then what about the time, the love, the kindness, the respect, the affection, the lessons-learned, and the wisdom that you could give to, or share with, someone? You do not have to be wealthy in order to donate. You just have to use the seeds that God has already given you. Just know that God cannot be mocked as Galatians 6:7 tells us: “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sow, that he shall also reap.”

At SRL Ministries, you can give (i.e. plant seeds) in four different ways; you can:

• Make a financial donation
   
• Give materially
   
• Open doors for us
   
• Give us your time by becoming a volunteer

It does not matter what you give (or how much) as long as you give. Yes, the seeds that God has given you must produce an heavenly return. If there is one thing that matters is that you must give, not because you have to, but because you want to and with joy and detachment, not expecting a return. And remember, if you are faithful in the little, then our Lord will entrust you with more as time passes by (see Luke 16:10 and Matthew 25:24-30).

Giving is one of our key duties as Ambassadors of Christ. By supporting SRL Ministries as well as your local church and other Christian associations, you let the love of God flow through you to us, and through us to others that you couldn’t reach. Yes, SRL Ministries help you become rich in the eyes of God. I lovingly and profoundly thank you for your faithful support, for we could not exist without you willingness to give part of your abundance to us. As either a member or a partner of SRL Ministries, you share the credit for any life that we save through our various ministries.
